2 NC women sentenced for Medicaid fraud

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Two Charlotte-area women have been sentenced to prison for their roles in Medicaid fraud schemes that federal prosecutors say cheated the federal government out of millions of dollars.

Prosecutors say 39-year-old Victoria Finney Brewton of Shelby was sentenced Wednesday to more than nine years in prison. Twenty-seven-year-old Rodnisha Sade Cannon of Charlotte was sentenced to eight and a half years.
